The Hoa Binh provincial organising committee for anniversary activities on December 17 held a ceremony to unveil a ceramic mural on the local military-civilian ties and release a book on the Party and political work of the provincial armed forces during 1947 – 2024, in commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA) and 35th anniversary of the All-People Defence Festival.

Attendees included Nguyen Phi Long, alternate Member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the provincial Party Committee; Bui Duc Hinh, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Council; Bui Van Khanh, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee; Colonel Vu Van Hoai, deputy chief for political affairs at Military Region 3; and other members of the Party Committee's Standing Board.

Authorised by the Ministry of National Defence, Bui Duc Hinh Hinh, Standing Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Council, presents five provincial leaders with the ministry’s insignia "For the cause of VPA's building".

Provincial leaders and delegates cut a ribbon to inaugurate the mural.

The mural, located at the Hoa Binh Military Command headquarters, embodies the enduring bond between the military and civilians throughout the 77-year history of the local armed forces. Titled "Quan dan Hoa Binh (Military and people of Hoa Binh”), the artwork is crafted from colorful ceramic mosaics and divided into three sections. It portrays the historical and cultural traditions of the land and people of Hoa Binh since the founding of the Party and the establishment of the provincial armed forces. It highlights the growth and development of the forces, the strong bond between the military and civilians in the cause of building and defending the fatherland, and key activities of the forces in recent times.

On this occasion, the Ministry of National Defence awarded the insignia "For the cause of VPA's building" to five provincial leaders for their distinctive services. The provincial People’s Committee presented certificates of merit to 10 collectives and 19 individuals for their outstanding achievements during peak emulation campaigns. Additionally, the provincial organising committee for anniversary activities awarded prizes to 10 authors and groups for their high-ranking entries in a contest exploring the 80-year legacy of the VPA and the 35 years of the All-People Defence Festival.
