Amid the ongoing wave of digital transformation, the youth of Hoa Binh province have taken the lead in preserving and promoting local historical and cultural sites.

By leveraging their creativity and enthusiasm, youth unions across the province have digitised numerous historical and cultural landmarks, making them more accessible to both locals and tourists.

A key initiative has been the installation of QR codes at historical and cultural sites, including revolutionary landmarks. These QR codes serve as digital guides, providing visitors with quick and accurate access to detailed information, images, and historical context. This innovative approach simplifies the dissemination of information while ensuring the preservation of cultural and historical values.

Thinh Lang Temple and Communal House in Hoa Binh city is dedicated to the worship of the Tan Vien Son Thanh  (also called Son Tinh or the God of the Mountain) and the Dinh family’s Three Gods. Although the traditional festival, held on the eighth day of the Lunar New Year, is no longer celebrated, the site remains a popular destination for locals and tourists during holidays.

Nguyen Quynh Anh, a local resident, shared that the QR code project by the local youth union has made it easier for everyone to access accurate and comprehensive information about the temple’s history and cultural significance.

Another significant site is the Tay Tien Regiment Monument in Lac Son district, a provincial-level historical site commemorating the heroic efforts of the Tay Tien Regiment during the resistance war.

In 2023, the Thuong Coc commune youth union implemented a digital transformation project to promote this landmark.
Bui Thu Hien, secretary of the union, said that the QR code, designed as an informative panel, is not only placed at the site but also shared widely on social media, enhancing awareness and educational efforts.

These youth-led initiatives have proven highly effective, making historical and cultural sites more engaging and accessible.

By combining tradition with modern technology, the youth of Hoa Binh are playing a vital role in preserving their heritage while driving digital progress in their communities.
