(HBO) – On 16th of January, the Steering Committee of the province organized a conference to explore the tourism development in 2018. Mr. Nguyen Van Chuong, The Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, the Head of the provincial tourism steering committee chaired the conference.

 In 2017, the Tourism Steering Committee promulgated and directed the related industries and localities to implement efficiently the tourism development plans of the province and got high achievements. Tourism planning and investment was advised in time to focus on the key contents. It is advised for the provincial People’s Committee to set up a construction project about the National Tourism Area of Hoa Binh Lake up to 2035; to set a detailed plan for Thung Nai Harbor for attracting the investment and construction of Hoa Binh Lake. The Steering Committee also directed all the districts and the city to complete construction projects of the local tourism development. The propaganda and promotion of tourism have been paid attention. The investment in infrastructure and technical facilities for tourism was given priority. In 2017, the provincial People’s Committee allocated 23,48 billion dongs for 5 tourism infrastructure projects; 7 tourism projects were licensed with the total registered capital of nearly 1,400 billion dongs. The tourism products were various and diverse. Therefore, they contributed to improve the quality and efficiency of tourism activities in the province. In 2017, the province welcomed about 2,5 millions of tourists, reached 110,5% as planned, in which the number of international visitors were more than 260,000 people, the number of domestics tourists was 2,2 million people. The total revenue from tourism reached over 675,000 billion dongs.

In addition to these achievements, the tourism industry still has some limitations, such as the infrastructure investment has met the requirements of developing tourism; there have been no high quality tourism products to serve tourists; the quality of human resources working in tourism has not satisfied the requirements, etc.

At the conference, the delegates focused on discussing to find out the reasons and limitations existing in tourism development in 2017 and give solutions to improve the quality of tourism activities. At the same time, they raised their opinions in the draft of the tourism development Plan of the province in 2018.

 Making conclusion at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Van Chuong, The Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, the Head of the provincial tourism steering committee remarked and highly appreciated the results of tourism achieved in 2017. At the same time, he asked the members of the steering committee and the local authorities to continue advising of the provincial People’s Committee to promulgate and implement the Action Plan No.15 of the provincial Party to carry out the Resolution No.08 of the Poliburo on tourism development to become the point economic sector and the project of developing the Hoa Binh Lake tourism Area to become the National Tourism Area; continuing mobilizing investment resources to build the tourism infrastructure and tourism technical facilities, strengthening the propaganda and promotion of tourism; continuing their direction of developing the products of ecotourism and culture in the whole province; focusing on developing some tourism projects of high quality entertainment on Hoa Binh Lake Tourism Area and Mai Chau tourist destination.

Hoa Binh allocates over 30 trillion VND for infrastructure development

Hoa Binh allocated over 30 trillion VND (nearly 1.18 billion USD) to develop infrastructure systems in ethnic minority and mountainous areas during 2019 - 2024. Priority was given to transport and irrigation infrastructure; markets; schools; medical stations; communal houses; and power grid, telecommunication, radio, and television systems.
