(HBO)– Chairman of the Hoa Binh provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Van Quang has asked the local inspection sector to heighten their responsibility and actively participate in the fight against corruption while attending the sector’s conference to review its work in 2017 and put forward tasks for 2018.
Under
the authority of the Government Inspectorate, Chairman of the Hoa Binh
provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Van Quang, grants the 2017 excellent
emulation flag of the Government Inspectorate to Hoa Binh province’s inspection
sector.
Chairman Quang requested the sector to improve its role of
consulting provincial leaders to direct the inspection and settlement of
complaints and denunciations, strictly implement assigned tasks with the focus
on administrative and specialised inspections as well as major projects and
issues that draw public attention.
He required each inspection official to heighten their
responsibilities and improve professionals to fulfil the sector’s tasks this
year.
Last year, the sector closely followed inspections of the
Government Inspectorate and the Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee
and the locality’s real situation to make and implement inspection plans.
Forces were mobilised to conduct unscheduled inspections, while
administrative and specialised inspections were intensified and produced
positive results.
The sector conducted 155 administrative inspections and 267
specialised inspections, including nine unannounced ones. During these
inspections, it detected economic violations worth over 31.7 billion VND (1.39
million USD), of which more than 5.26 billion VND was withdrawn to the State
budget, over 24.7 billion VND was removed from the balance sheet and assigned
to authorised agencies for settlement, 437.9 million VND used for further
construction as designed and nearly 1.3 billion VND solved for other purposes.
In the year, 2,070 administrative violation minutes were made,
while 1,988 punishment decisions were issued. The sector proposed discipline on
one Chairperson of the commune-level People’s Committee, reviewed
administrative responsibilities of 45 collectives and 139 individuals, and
handed over two cases to the investigation agency.
With these achievements, the provincial inspection sector was
granted with the 2017 excellent emulation flag of the Government Inspectorate.
At the conference, the provincial Chief Inspector presented
certificates of merit to 13 collectives and 35 individuals who had outstanding
performances in the inspection work in 2017./.
Over recent years, the Farmers' Union of Mai Chau district has implemented numerous specific programmes and activities to support its members in developing products under the One Commune One (OCOP) programme. These efforts have contributed to enhancing local agricultural branding, increasing goods value, and improving incomes and living standards for residents.
Since 2022, the Hoa Binh Department of Education and Training has provided advice for the provincial People's Committee to issue Plan No. 219/KH-UBND on November 17, 2022, which outlines the implementation of a project titled "Enhancing the application of Information Technology (IT) and Digital Transformation in Education and Training for the 2022–2025 period, with a vision to 2030.” As of now, the local education sector has made significant progress in IT adoption and digital transformation.
Hoa Binh allocated over 30 trillion VND (nearly 1.18 billion USD) to develop infrastructure systems in ethnic minority and mountainous areas during 2019 - 2024. Priority was given to transport and irrigation infrastructure; markets; schools; medical stations; communal houses; and power grid, telecommunication, radio, and television systems.
The Hoa Binh provincial organising committee for anniversary activities on December 17 held a ceremony to unveil a ceramic mural on the local military-civilian ties and release a book on the Party and political work of the provincial armed forces during 1947 – 2024, in commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA) and 35th anniversary of the All-People Defence Festival.
In recent years, Hoa Binh has allocated significant resources to foster cooperative economy, helping ethnic minorities capitalise on their potential and advantages to escape poverty.
As a mountainous district still facing numerous challenges, Da Bac has made notable progress in advancing administrative reforms across various areas. The district has prioritised reorganising and streamlining its administrative apparatus, operating "one-stop-shop” units, and applying information technology (IT) in the handling of administrative procedures. Efforts have also been directed toward upgrading infrastructure and equipment to enhance service quality for residents and businesses.
