(HBO) – Secretary of the Hoa Binh provincial Party Committee Bui Van Tinh recently visited and presented Lunar New Year (Tet) gifts to victims of the historic flood last year in the Tan Huong resettlement area of Nhap hamlet, Dong Ruong commune (Da Bac district).

 

He was accompanied by officials of the provincial Party Committee’s inspection board, the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, the Hoa Binh Red Cross Society, and Da Bac district.

 

 Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Bui Van Tinh visits and presents Tet gifts to families in the resettlement area, asking them to enhance solidarity and mutual support.

 The historic flood in October 2017 resulted in heavy losses in Nhap hamlet of Dong Ruong commune, Da Bac district. Activities to address disaster consequences were promptly carried out then.

 There are 52 households with over 210 people in Nhap hamlet at present. Among them, 25 households with 108 people reside in the Tan Huong resettlement area while another 27 households with over 100 people live in the Ren area.

 With strong efforts to settle disaster consequences, local residents have gained access to electricity and clean water. A kindergarten was also built, giving education to 21 children. Food and essential goods supplies have also been ensured. Almost all households in the Tan Huong resettlement area are set to have new houses before Tet.

 During the trip, Secretary Bui Van Tinh asked locals to strengthen solidarity and make efforts to address difficulties, affirming that State agencies always pay attention to helping them swiftly stabilise their lives and production activities and prepare for Tet. He also extended Tet greetings to local residents and authorities of Dong Ruong commune.

 On this occasion, the working group presented 50 gift packages worth 1.2 million VND each to families in Nhap hamlet./.

Hoa Binh allocated over 30 trillion VND (nearly 1.18 billion USD) to develop infrastructure systems in ethnic minority and mountainous areas during 2019 - 2024. Priority was given to transport and irrigation infrastructure; markets; schools; medical stations; communal houses; and power grid, telecommunication, radio, and television systems.
