(HBO) – Nguyen Van Quang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Hoa Binh province and Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, chaired a regular meeting of the committee on March 1, on collecting feedback on a number of important the socio-economic development issues of the province. The meeting also drew the Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee and leaders of local departments and agencies.

Participants at the meeting listened and commented on reports on socio-economic development and urgent matters of the province, including a project to merge residential areas. So far, 82 villages have been merged to form 41 new villages, while 39 residential areas have been combined into 19 new ones. The names of two residential areas have been changed and one new village has been formed.

Currently, the province has 1,999 residential units, 60 ones lower than the time before launching Proposal 1084.

A sum of about 4.7 billion VND is saved each year from spending for non-professional and support to organisations.

After five years of the implementation of the provincial socio-economic master plan, the province has made a number of achievements. In 2017, the gross regional domestic product (GRDP) growth was estimated at 9.46 percent, while State budget collection reached 3.18 trillion VND, exports hit 505 million USD, and public investment disbursement ratio was 70 percent.

Addressing the event, Nguyen Van Quang, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, said that the drafting board should continue gathering ideas, reviewing data and adjusting language of the document to ensure scientific values.

 It is necessary to give specific solutions suitable to the reality, creating motivation for the completion of local socio-economic goals. 

 He asked for stronger determination in implementing the policy of merging and completing organisation of residential units, while reviewing the unmet targets to have specific solutions.

 Sectors and localities should strictly conduct the direction of the Chairman of the People’s Committee on implementing tasks after the Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday, as well as the province’s decision on plan to implement socio-economic tasks and State budget estimate in 2018, he urged.

 He also asked for accelerating resettlement, and stricter principle among public servants and enhanced responsibility of the leaders.

 Alongside, it is necessary to continue simplifying administrative procedures, while focusing on removing difficulties facing enterprises and investors in implementing projects, thus facilitating their effective operation and creating sustainable budget income.
