(HBO) – On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day (July 27), a working delegation led by Deputy Secretary of the Hoa Binh Party Committee and Chairman of the Hoa Binh People’s Committee Nguyen Van Quang visited and presented gifts to Vietnamese heroic mothers in Hoa Binh city on July 19.
The
delegation was joined by leaders from the provincial Military Command,
Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, Bank for Investment and
Development of Vietnam (BIDV)’s Hoa Binh branch and representatives from other
branches and agencies in the province.
The gifts were given to two Vietnamese heroic mothers Dao Thi Dan and Nguyen
Thi Cho. Mother Dao Thi Dan, born in 1919 and residing in hamlet 4, Dong Tien
ward, has two sons Nguyen Duc Coi and Nguyen Duc Tao who laid down their lives
during the war against the
US.
Meanwhile, 91-year-old Nguyen Thi Cho in Hoa Binh commune lost two sons-Nguyen
Van Sac and Nguyen Van Than during wartime.

Chairman Quang expressed his gratitude towards the Vietnamese heroic mothers
for the sacrifice they made to national liberation and independence. He wished
the mothers good health and become moral support for their children and
grandchildren to make contributions to the local economic development and
construction of a prosperous Hoa Binh province.
He affirmed that following the gratitude tradition, the province has carried
out a number of activities to take care of people who rendered services to the
revolution for years. He also asked local authorities to further practical
activities for people with significant contributions to the revolution./.

After the historic victory on April 30, 1975, which liberated the South and reunified the country, the whole Vietnam embarked on a new mission — promoting peace and reconstructing the nation with century-defining projects.
