(HBO) – The Party Committee, the People’s Council, the People’s Committee and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hoa Binh province, posthumously bestow the State title "Vietnamese Heroic Mother” upon 11 women, and presented the Independence Order (third class) to 29 families with considerable contributions to and sacrifices for the national liberation and protection and international missions.

The 150 participants were outstanding revolution contributors and their relatives representing more than 13,000 war invalids, martyrs’ relatives and exemplary contributors across the province.

 At the ceremony, Vice Secretary of the Hoa Binh Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Van Quang delivered a speech expressing respect for and deep gratitude to the Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, heroic martyrs and war invalids. He said during the resistance wars against French colonialists and US imperialists as well as the national development and protection period, 5,586 natives of Hoa Binh laid down their lives for the homeland’s independence and freedom. Seven of them were presented or posthumously presented with the "Hero of the People’s Armed Forces” title, 3,187 are wounded soldiers, 1,425 are sick soldiers, and 246 are Vietnamese Heroic Mothers. Twenty-nine families with many martyrs were also rewarded the Independence Order (third class).

Following the address of the People’s Committee Chairman, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee Bui Van Cuu, head of the steering board for caring for local revolution contributors, reported on the outcomes of Hoa Binh’s gratitude movement from 2012 to 2017. Since 2012, the province’s Gratitude Fund has raised more than 32 billion VND (1.4 million USD) to make 800 saving books for the targeted group, build 462 houses, repair another 515 homes, and upgrade facilities dedicated to martyrs. Medical care is also given to more than 1,000 contributors every year while monthly benefits have been ensured for over 8,000 contributors. More than 98 percent of the local policy beneficiary families and revolution contributors have living standards equal to or higher than the average living standards of other residents in the same areas.

 The report delivered by the People’s Committee Vice Chairman also honoured outstanding contributors representing over 13,000 contributors across the province. It also pointed out four focuses that need to be implemented well in the time ahead.


 Officials of the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs and the provincial People’s Committee visit local veteran revolutionaries and revolution contributors.

 At the event, the provincial Department of Home Affairs also announced the President’s decision on posthumously bestowing the "Vietnamese Heroic Mother” title upon 11 women and presented the Independence Order (third class) to 29 families with great contributions to and sacrifices for the national liberation and protection and international missions.
