(HBO) – A delegation of Hoa Binh province led by Tran Dang Ninh, Deputy Secretary of the Hoa Binh provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, made a field trip to Lung Van commune, Tan Lac district to learn bout tourism development in the locality on August 8.

The delegation was joined by Nguyen Van Chuong, Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Thi Oanh, head of the Mass MobilisationBoard of the provincial Party Committee and Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee’s Hoa Binh chapter; representatives from Action on Poverty in Vietnam and FLC Group; and leaders of some departments and sectors of the province.

Tran Dang Ninh, Deputy Secretary of the Hoa Binh provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People's Council, and the delegation visit potential tourist attractions in Lung Van commune (Tan Lac).

 

Lung Van, the centre of five upland communes of Tan Lac district, plays an important role in socio-economic development, defense and security. The commune boasts potential and advantages for tourism development, with a cultural tradition of the Muong people and their unique tangible and intangible cultural values such as Mo Muong cultural heritage, Muong gong, handicraft products, traditional festivals, folk games.

Lung Van is also an attractive destination for community-based tours. It has provincial road 440 linking to localities with tourism potential.

After visiting attractions, delegates highly valued potential and strength for tourism development, especially community-based tourism, in Lung Van, thanks to its geographic location, climate and typical cultural identity and agricultural products.

They expressed their wish to cooperate with the locality in developing tourism, particularly community-based tourism, while calling on the local authority to work well on management, and pay attention to improving the quality of tourism services.

 

Training courses should be arranged for local households which are supplying homestay services for tourists, helping them collect experience in this field, they said.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Tran Dang Ninh spoke highly of potentialfor tourism development in Lung Van commune in particular and Tan Lac district in general.

He suggested the district should quickly develop a project on tourism development with the goal of boosting tourism development in upland communes; focus on the development of households providing homestay services; while developing short-term and long-term projects as well as allocating resources for the implementation.

Forcommunes, he proposed the pilot implementation in some potential households in each commune, saying that tourism activities must ensure the preservation of typical culture and environmental protection.

Action for Poverty in Vietnam will send experts to survey, support project development, he said, asking the district to assign an agency or unit to connect the locality and investors./.
