(HBO) – The 20th Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union’s chapter in Hoa Binh city for the 2017-2022 tenure took place on August 9-10 with the participation of 151 delegates representing nearly 5,000 youth union members in Hoa Binh city.

In the previous tenure, the chapter achieved comprehensive outcomes and basically fulfilled the targets set in the 19th Congress’ Resolution. Specifically, 100 percent of youth union officials and 85 percent of youth union members learned about the directions and resolutions of the Party and the HCM Communist Youth Union and the State’s policies and laws. Four grassroots-level youth union organisations in non-State businesses were established. The chapter also focused on developing the youth union membership, opened 136 courses to study the youth union in 2012-2017, and admitted 5,475 new members.

In the previous tenure, the local youth union organisations built 10 city-level youths’ works and 25 communal-level ones and presented over 1,000 gift packages to disadvantaged families, 800 blankets, 10,000 sets of clothes and 20,000 notebooks to poor students while supporting the repair of hundreds of houses affected by flash floods and landslides, building five new charity houses, and providing free health check-ups and medicines for over 3,000 needy and elderly people. The organisations also presented 500 gifts to underprivileged families on the traditional Lunar New Year, opened nine vocational training courses for youngsters, and generated jobs for 1,500 youth union members. More than 1,000 excellent youth union members were introduced to the Party, with 642 of them becoming Party members.

In the 2012-2017 tenure, the city’s youth union members set the slogan "pioneer, volunteer, solidarity and innovation to build a beautiful, civilised and modern Hoa Binh city”. 


Leaders of Hoa Binh city grant certificates of merit to 10 collectives with outstanding performances in trade union activities and youths’ movements in the 2012-2017 tenure. 


The Congress elected a new executive board of 29 members. Bui Quoc Hoan was re-elected as Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union’s Hoa Binh city chapter. The Congress also selected 17 official delegates and two alternate ones to participate in the provincial-level event. 


On the occasion, the standing committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union’s chapter in Hoa Binh province presented a flag to the Hoa Binh city chapter and the "for young generations” insignia to 22 officials. The municipal People’s Committee granted certificates of merit to 10 excellent collectives and 12 individuals.
