Attending the ceremony were Major General Vu Hai San, member of the Party Central Committee and Commander of Military Zone 3; Bui Van Tinh, member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Tran Dang Ninh, Standing Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the provincial People’s Council and head of the provincial National Assembly delegation; and Nguyen Van Quang, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee.

General Vu Hai San, member of the Party Central Committee and Commander of
Military Zone 3, presents the Fatherland Defense Order (second class) to officials
and soldiers of the provincial armed forces.
In the past 70 years, generations of the officials and soldiers of the provincial
armed forces promoted solidarity and creativeness as well as overcome
difficulties to complete entrusted missions. During nine years of the war
against France (1945-1954), local arm forces joined hands with regular troops in
1,780 battles, killing and capture 3,406 enemies, destroying 16 artilleries, 16
canoes and warships, 51 trucks, three ordnance depots, seize 529 guns of
different kinds and 120,000 bullets. Some 955 local people joined the army and
there were nearly 1.17 million conscripted labourers and youth volunteers in
the province. Local people assisted thousands tonnes of food for battlefields.

Party Committee, presents flag, on the occasion of the armed forces’
traditional day.
Entering the war against the
Shining examples were once again highlighted during struggles to protect
national border.
At the ceremony, the provincial Party
Committee and the provincial Military High Command organise a cuisine contest
during the ceremony.
Local party committee, authorities, people and
armed forces were awarded the title of Hero of the People’s Armed Forces, 10 out of
11 districts and city and 65 communes and wards the title of Hero of the
People’s Armed Forces. Five organisations and three individuals were presented
with the Hero of Labour title, one Ho Chi Minh Order, 14 military medals and 32
service medals. Some 246 women were presented with the title of Vietnamese
Heroic Mothers and ten war martyrs were awarded the title of hero of the
People’s Armed Forces.
An art performance at the ceremony
On the occasion, the provincial armed forces were honoured with the Fatherland
Defense Order-second class, received a letter of congratulations from the
Minister of National Defence, a flag from Military Zone 3, High Command, provincial
Party Committee, People’s Council, provincial People’s Committee and Vietnam
Fatherland./.
