(HBO) – Secretary of the Hoa Binh provincial Party Committee Bui Van Tinh, who is also a member of the Party Central Committee, has made a fact-finding tour of some businesses and cooperatives in Yen Thuy district.

Located in Lac Thinh commune, the medium-density fibreboard (MDF) manufacturer Hoa Binh MDF Co. Ltd has created jobs for 138 local residents whose monthly income averages 5.2 million VND (over 223 USD). In 2018, its revenue topped 142.1 billion VND, contributing over 12.6 billion VND to the State budget.

Meanwhile, the 13-hectare chick farm of the CP Vietnam Livestock JSC in Bao Hieu commune has employed 120 local residents with an average monthly per capita income of 4.5 million VND. Modern technologies have been applied to its farming process to minimise environmental impact. The firm has also paid attention to ensuring its employees’ welfares.

Founded in 2016, the Bao Hieu agro-forestry cooperative consists of 39 members. During its operation, the members have had chances to exchange experience and acquire and effectively apply technical advances to production. The chairperson of the cooperative has created favourable conditions for them in terms of seeds, capital and fertiliser to serve production activities. Orange and grapefruit, the key crops farmed on more than 100 hectares of land, has had their sale guaranteed.

Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Bui Van Tinh learns about activities of the chick farm of the CP Vietnam Livestock JSC in Bao Hieu commune (Yen Thuy district).

Under the leadership of local authorities and with the key role played by war veterans, Truong Son hamlet of Ngoc Luong commune has been rated as an exemplary residential area with all the households having upgraded their gardens to plant citrus trees and actively contributed money and efforts to concretise 100 percent of local roads and build a cultural centre. Twenty-seven families of war veterans have taken the lead in ensuring a green, clean and beautiful environment by growing flowers along the roadside and developing organic vegetable farming. There are now only two poor and one near-poor families among the 132 households in Truong Son hamlet.

Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Bui Van Tinh asked sectors and localities in Hoa Binh to consider setting up cooperatives specialised in planting commercial forests so as to develop forest-based economic activities. He asked the Hoa Binh MDF Co. Ltd to boost wood processing to better serve the domestic construction and export demand, thus contributing more to the State budget and the local export revenue.

He told the chick farm of the CP Vietnam Livestock JSC to pay attention to environmental protection in its activities. The Bao Hieu agro-forestry cooperative was requested to build on its achievements to expand production, increase members and, especially, ensure the quality and sale of their products so as to further improve workers’ income and living standards.

Meanwhile, Ngoc Luong commune and Yen Thuy district were asked to evaluate the example of Truong Son hamlet to multiply this model in their localities.
