provincial Party Committee Bui Van Tinh visits the community tourism model at
Lac 2 Village, Chieng Chau commune
In the first half of
this year, Mai Chau district Party Committee focused its leadership on the implementation of political tasks of the provincial Party organisation, achieving
remarkable results.
Along with popularizing
and implementing the 12th Party Central
Committee' s Resolution 04 on
Party building and revamping in association with the Politburo’s
Directive 05-CT/TW on the study and following of President
Ho Chi Minh’s moral example, the district also paid attention to political
and ideological education for Party members and residents.
At the same time, the
district carried out well the planning of
management personnel for the 2020-2025 tenure.
Mai Chau Party
Committee also focused on ensuring internal political stability, personnel
training and developing Party members, while strengthening the effectiveness
of inspection and monitoring, and improving mass
mobilisation work.
The district’s production value reached 850.9 billion VND, and
It is currently
home to 146 tourist accommodation facilities, seven community tourism sites which are operating effectively, together with 22 investment
projects with a combined 575.7 trillion VND in registered capital.
At the same time,
socio-cultural situation was improved, and security-defence
was maintained.
The standing board of Mai Chau Party Committee also pointed to difficulties and
weaknesses of the district, while defining 16 major tasks for the remaining 6 months of the year.

Concluding the working session, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Bui Van
Tinh emphasised a number of key tasks for the coming time, including choosing
key plant and animal varieties for farming and
breeding sectors, developing organic agriculture
and expanding markets for local products.
It is necessary to extend the area for
temperate trees and medicinal trees, while developing the
breeding of fish in Hoa Binh lake, he said, and instructed that farming land producing low yield should be transformed into land
for cattle breeding.
At the same time, tourism should be made a key sector, the official said,
urging building a project on tourism development in Hang Kia and Pa Co
communes.
Provincial departments and agencies should help the district study the development and
planning of tourism services, particularly community
tourism, devise tourism management policies, establish local travel agencies, and
building tourist destinations in order to increase
budget collection.
Mr. Tinh suggested building
tours that link different locations in the province and the province with its
neighbours, establishing a district tourism management
board, and setting up cooperatives on tourism
and transport,
among others.
He called on more
investment in transport infrastructure, including building a new road
connecting National Highway 6 and National Highway 15, while considering the expansion of Mai Chau
district to turn it into an urban area of Class
The official stressed environment and
forest protection as a key task for the district, particularly the need to
handle water pollution caused by Van Mai paper plant and illegal tree logging in the Hang Kia – Pa Co natural reserve.
He asked the district to improve the organisation of the administration, especially the militia force in Hang Kia and Pa Co communes, pay attention to personnel planning and human resources training, and tackle unlawful use of land for farming and living in line with the law and local security conditions.
Previously, the
Secretary of the provincial Party Committee toured
community-based
tourism models in Lac 1 and Lac 2 villages in Chieng Chau commune. He also
planted a tree inside the Lac 1 Village Cultural House and presented
gifts for children of the two villages on the occasion of the International Children’s Day.
