(HBO)- The organising board of the contest "Learning the history of Vietnam-Laos special relations” recently held a conference to grade the entries and reach unanimity for the award programme.

The competition was carried out in line with the provincial Party Committee’s set plan, drawing the participation of officials, party members and local people with the oldest one of 80 years old. The organising board received 9,064 entries, doubling the number in the
similar contest held in 2012.

Almost all of the entries complied with the requirements and focused on the 12 topics given by the central-level organising board. The
entries highlighted, analysed and  evaluated elements contributing to the establishment of the diplomatic ties between the two countries as well as the significance of the event. They underscored the development of the fighting alliance to defeat the US’s war strategies, winning victories during 1963-1975of the both countries’ people, while highlighting the roles of leaders and senior officials of the two Parties and states in building and nurturing the special relations. Through entries, participants expressed their affection on the culture, country and people of Laos.

Many writings with
good and clear structure, strong support paragraphs and a line-up of valuable illustrative photos highlighted solidarity and friendship between the two countries during the national struggles for independence.

Through the competition, local officials, party members, students and people have deeper understanding of the Vietnam-Laos special relations and the importance of
promoting the ties to a new height. It also raised public awareness of the role and obligation of each citizen in safeguarding and promoting the bilateralfriendship in the amidstglobal integration.

After receiving the entries, the
jury board marked and chose 50 best entries to send to the central-level organising board.

The province planned to present one first, two second, three third and 10 consolation
prizes in the individual category. There will be two second, two third and seven consolation awards for organisations./.
