(HBO) - A citrus tree festival of Hoa Binh province and a fair featuring agricultural and "One Commune, One Product” (OCOP) products of the northern region will kick off in Hoa Binh province on November 1. Details on the two events, which are important trade promotion activities, were released at a press conference in Hanoi on October 15.

More than 40 media agencies in Hanoi attend the press conference.

At the press conference, a representative of the Trade Promotion Centre for Agriculture (Agritrade) provided information on the festival and fair.

Accordingly, the upcoming events aim to popularise products of the OCOP Programme, high-quality agro-forestry-fishery products of Vietnam, along with citrus fruit specialties of Hoa Binh and other localities. They also look to support the implementation of the OCOP Programme for 2018-2020, with a vision to 2030, in northern localities.

The events are expected to create a chance for provinces and cities to introduce their agricultural potential and strengths, and promote trade and investment in this sector. They will also help businesses, farms and production facilities in the northern region seek opportunities for partnership with agro-forestry-fishery product purchasing and processing enterprises nationwide.

Replying to reporters’ questions, an Agritrade leader said with more than 250 booths, the festival and fair will be a trustworthy bridge helping to market high-quality products to consumers. They will also serve as venues for localities, businesses, research institutes and cooperatives from across Vietnam to introduce their scientific and technological achievements. Additionally, companies, cooperatives and farmers can also learn experience and access the latest technologies and equipment for agro-forestry-fishery production and processing at the events.

Deputy Director of the Hoa Binh provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development Vuong Dac Hung said to be displayed at the festival and fair, all products have to pass strict examination and have clear origin, so consumers can put their trust in them. The events are also set to attract great attention thanks to such activities as a conference introducing OCOP products to retail outlets in the northern region, and a programme connecting farmers.

The Hoa Binh citrus tree festival and the agricultural and OCOP product fair of the northern region are scheduled to take place at the provincial convention and exhibition centre in Hoa Binh city from November 1 to 5./.
