(HBO) - On January 13, a working delegation led by Vice Secretary of the Hoa Binh provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the provincial People’s Council and head of the provincial National Assembly deputy delegation Tran Dang Ninh visited and presented New Year (Tet) gifts to poor households and policy beneficiaries in Tan Mai and Tan Dan communes (now Tan Thanh commune), Mai Chau district. He was accompanied by leaders of the provincial chapter of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the district.

On behalf of the provincial Party Committee, the provincial
People’s Council, the provincial People’s Committee and the VFF provincial
chapter, Ninh handed over 80 gifts to especially poor households and policy
beneficiaries in the commune. Each gift is worth 600,000 VND, including a
blanket and a bag of jams, biscuits and candies. The gifts were funded by the provincial Fund for the Poor.
Speaking at the event, Ninh lauded communal officials and
people for overcoming difficulties. As the rate of poor and near-poor household
remains high, he asked the communes and district to tap potential for
socio-economic development, further improve local lives and build cultural
lives. He requested focusing on the merger of Tan Dan and Tan Mai communes into
Tan Thanh commune in accordance with the National Assembly Standing Committee’s
Resolution, considering it an important task. He wished local officials and
people a happy New Year with good health and new successes.
He later visited and presented gifts to teachers and
students of a boarding secondary and high school in Tan Dan commune, and
granted 5 million VND to the school./.
