(HBO) - Amid the complicated developments of COVID-19, the Hoa Binh provincial People’s Committee on March 19 issued Dispatch No.383/UBND-KGVX on urging local residents to suspend cultural services and gathering activities in order to mitigate the risk of epidemic spread in the locality.

The Chairman of the committee asked the People’s Committees of the city and districts to urge locals and businesses to suspend cultural businesses and services, including art performances, film screenings, and karaoke clubs, thus contributing to COVID-19 prevention and control.

About the organisation of weddings, authorities of wards, communes and townships were required to coordinate with local mass organisations to call on households to hold weddings in appropriate time after the epidemic is under control. In case any wedding time is fixed, households must follow recommendations by the Health Ministry, and hold the wedding within the family in the form of wedding announcement instead of sending invitations to the wedding ceremony in order to limit gatherings, thus protecting health of relatives and the community.

Regarding the organisation of funerals, the People’s Committees of the city and districts must assign authorities of wards, communes, and townships to work closely with mass organisations at the grassroots level to help bereaved families seriously follow COVID-19 prevention and control measures as guided by the health care authority, thus preventing epidemic spread in the community.

For relic sites, the People’s Committees and relic site management boards of the city and districts must halt festivals but not shut down relic and scenic sites, offer specific instructions as recommended by the medical sector, and urge visitors to seriously follow prevention and control measures./.
