(HBO) - The association of former youth volunteers of Hoa Binh province organised a ceremony to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Vietnam Youth Volunteer Force (July 15, 1950-2020) and the 15th founding anniversary of the provincial association of former youth volunteers (September 23, 2005-2020).

At the ceremony, participants recalled the 70-year glorious tradition of the Vietnam Youth VolunteerForce. 

At present, Hoa Binh has nine district-level youth volunteers’associations, 103 at the communal, ward and town level, and 90 chapters of the provincial association with a total of 3,588 members. Of this, 4,000 members are entitled to social benefits and relevant policies.

In the first six months of 2020, the association built four new houses totaling billions VND. It also presented savings books to its poor members.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Ngo Van Tuan expressed his deep gratitude and respect to the Vietnam Youth VolunteerForce in general and the locality’s youth volunteerforces in particular for their great contributions during the nation’s resistance wars. 

He praised and congratulated the provincial association of former youth volunteers on its significant achievementsin promoting socio-economic development in the locality. 

He suggested the local Party organisations, authorities and relevant agencies pay special attention to addressing issues related to the support policy for former youth volunteers, especially those with difficult circumstances and living with diseases.

Local youth volunteerorganisations at all levels were asked to promote unity and creativeness to further enhance their role and reputation, towards further promoting the association’s strength and contributing to the locality’s development.

On the occasion, the central committee of the Vietnam Youth VolunteerForce awarded the Former Youth Volunteer badges to 10 individuals, while the provincial People's Committee presented certificates of merit to 14 organisations and individuals in recognition of their excellent achievements in the association’s movements.

The provincial association of former youth volunteers gave 15 savings books worth 3 million VND each, and 28 gift packages to its disadvantaged members, and 10 gift packages to former female youth volunteers.

The provincial association of former youth volunteers also took the occasion to introduce a book on the history of the formation and development of local youth volunteer force during 1951-1990./.
