The 2019 - 2020 school year took place in a special context. Students had to take a long break from school due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
To overcome the difficulty, the locality’s education and training sector in general and the primary education grade in particular has made many efforts such as organizing online teaching; innovating teaching plans, methods and forms of teaching, testing and assessing, as well as teaching and studying management and organization.
At the same time, the sector also actively prepared all necessary conditions for the implementation of a new general education programme for Grade 1, contributing to excellently completing its important tasks.
Agencies in the sector and schools strengthened coordination and organised activities to prevent and control diseases in general, and the COVID-19 pandemic in particular, with attention paid to checking collective kitchens, canteens, and food services provided in schools, in order to ensure hygiene, food safety and nutrition.
In the 2019 – 2020 academic year, Hoa Binh had 31 out of 35 primary schools meeting national standards, reaching 88.57 percent ( with 10 of them meeting national standards at the level 2). As many as 35 out of 190 local general schools, which provide primary education programmes, met national standards.
Among 83,541 students participating in the educational assessment programme, 98.6 percent completed the Vietnamese language subject, and 98.9 percent completed the Math subject.
In the 2020-2021 school year, the province’s education and training sector will focus on a number of key tasks regarding primary eduction, including basically renovating the management of education and training, and reviewing conditions for implementing the new general education programme for Grade 1, improving the capacity of education managers and teachers, and reforming teaching methods in the direction of ability-based approach. The sector aims to ensure the numbers of schools, classes and students that engage in full-day schooling.
Local educational sector will be given greater authority in building and implementing teaching plans to suit the local situation. Meanwhile, training courses will be held for managers and teachers on implementing activities in schools with multiple educational levels./.
