(HBO) – The Au My Centre for Research and Technology Transfer and the People’s Committee of Mai Chau district held a ceremony on December 11 to announce trademark certification for Thung Khe sticky corn and Phuc San taro.

and Phuc San taro trademarks to households.
The two products have become trademarks of
residents in Thung Khe commune, now Thanh Son commune and Phuc San commune, now
Son Thuy commune.
However, they remain self-sufficient and
have yet to gain a strong foothold in the market. The building of intellectual
property for the products aims to build and protect the prestige, improve
competitiveness, and prevent fake goods. Once licensed, the products could meet
market demand, contributing to promoting production and trade, improving incomes
of residents in Thanh Son and Son Thuy communes in service of local socio-economic
development. It will also help improve the efficiency of state management on
intellectual property on Thung Khe sticky corn and Phuc San taro.
At the ceremony, a representative from the
provincial Department of Science and Technology presented certificates
recognising Thung Khe sticky corn and Phuc San taro to the Mai Chau district
People’s Committee.
Later, an official of the Mai Chau District
People’s Committee handed over certificates recogning the use of Thung Khe
sticky corn trademark to eight households and Phuc San taro trademark to 10 other
families./.
