(HBO) - That is the content of the province's direction for the program to support the poor households to welcome Tan Suu Lunar New Year in 2021. Accordingly, in the Decision No. 122 / QD-UBND, dated on January 20, 2021 of the provincial People's Committee, which has decided to supplement the expenditure estimate from the State budget to support the poor households with the support level of 400,000 VND / household to welcome Tet. The review results by 2020, there were 18,847 poor households in the whole province, and the total funding to support the poor households in this phase is over 7.5 billion dongs. The timely attention and care of the province has contributed to stabilizing the people's life, ensuring that everyone has a joyful and warm New Year.

The Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs and the representatives of Thien Tam Fund, Vingroup Group are giving gifts to the poor households in Thanh Son commune (Mai Chau).

On the days right near the Lunar New Year, the departments, the agencies, the social organizations and benefactors inside and outside the province have conducted many activities to support the especially difficult areas, giving Tet gifts to the poor households. The Provincial Fatherland Front has launched a movement to give gifts to the families under the preferential policies, people with meritorious services, and the poor households. The Provincial Youth Communist Union has been supporting working days for clearing house and giving gifts for the families with difficult circumstances. On January 19th – 21st, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs coordinated with Thien Tam Fund, Vingroup Group to go to the areas with difficult cỉcustances in Da Bac, Tan Lac, Yen Thuy and Mai Chau districts and Hoa Binh City to give Tet gifts for the poor households and children. The program offers 750 sets of Tet gifts with the worth of 600,000 VND each, including some necessities and money. The total value of supporting activities is 450 million VND.

Giving practical care to the poor children, the Provincial Fund for Child Protection has coordinated with a number of charitable organizations such as the High School for Foreign Languages (National University) to present 363 students at Yen Thuong High and Secondary School in Thach Yen (Cao Phong) through the program " the Warm Winter in the highlands”. From the scholarship of Vietnam Fund for Child Protection, 200 sets of scholarship worth 1 million VND each have been given to the poor students overcoming difficulties in Hoa Binh city, and Kim Boi, Lac Son, Cao Phong, Yen Thuy and Luong Son districts.

Along with activities to support poor households to welcome Tet, the social assistance policies for the social protection beneficiaries are always paid attention to. The social protection beneficiaries are nurtured at the provincial Social Work Center, and those who are detoxifying at the establishments are taken care of. The Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs has coordinated with the provincial Red Cross to effectively launch the campaign to support Tet for the poor, the New Year reunion for the workers. The localities regularly review to know the situation of the people's life to have timely supporting plans. During Tet and in the next-to-next crop months, the local budget has provided 78.41 tons of rice to 1,426 households at the risk of hunger during Tet. They have actively mobilized the resources to support the hungry households, especially the households affected by the natural disasters and epidemics.

Ms. Quach Thi Kieu, the Director of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, says: In addition to the program of the National Fatherland Front for the reduction of sustainable poverty, creating livelihoods to help the poor to escape poverty and escape poverty sustainably, to protect and take care of children with the special circumstances, the preferential policies for people with the meritorious services to the revolution, the programs to support the people to welcome Tet, contributing to ensuring the social security, demonstrating the preeminent policies of the Party and the State, contributing to support so that everyone can welcome Tet in the atmosphere of excitement, warmth, gratitude, safety and thriftiness.

On this occasion, the People's Committees of the districts and the city have also actively built the plans to visit, give gifts, and support the society on the occasion of Tet. They have also mobilized other organizations and individuals, and arranged the local budgets to take care of Tet for the poor people and the people with difficult circumstances, ensuring that everyone has a happy and healthy Tet. The sectors of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs have given gifts from the State’s President, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to the people with meritorious services and the relatives of the people with meritorious services. In which, there were over 10,700 sets of gifts from the State’s President of Vietnam with the budget of over 2.2 billion VND and over 13,300 sets of gifts of the province with budget of over 2.7 billion VND. The provincial People's Committee has had a program to visit, give gifts and encourage the families under the preferential policies, the people with meritorious services, the seriously wounded war invalids and the poor households in the province.
