(HBO) - Luong Son district, which is located to the northeast of the capital city of Hanoi, has attracted an array of domestic and foreign investors in the fields of tourism and clean agriculture. The locality is promoting integration to branch out its economy, build a modern urban area, and turn itself into a safe and alluring destination for tourists.
Boasting huge potential for agricultural
development, the district has spared no efforts to increase added value to its
agricultural products, as well as expand high-tech agriculture and organic
agriculture.
Local products like organic vegetables, Luong
Son goat and Viba banana have won the taste of many consumers.
In the end of 2014, a collective brand was
granted to Luong Son’s Lac lay loofa and organic vegetables, helping local
organic vegetable receive many valuable titles such as "Gold Brand of Vietnam’s
Agriculture in 2016”, and a gold cup for "organic agriculture brand for public
health”. It was honoured as a standout agricultural product for three years.
Currently, the district has found markets for
products of 22 farming groups with 144 members.
Along with organic vegetables, there are many
others products that have received warm welcome of the consumers, including
chicken of Thuan Phat agriculture and service cooperative, pomelo of Tan Thanh
agriculture cooperative, and banana of Viba banana cooperative, goat meat of
Hoa Binh agriculture cooperative, duck eggs of Hung Tien agricultural service
cooperative, pear guava and pomelo of My Tan agricultural service
cooperative.

Duc said that in the days before the traditional Lunar New Year, demand for
Viba banana was high, adding his cooperative had seen multi-fold increases in
the number of orders from Vinmart and BigC.
Bestowed with beautiful landscape and weather,
coupled with the rich culture of the Muong ethnic group, Luong Son is an
attractive destination for visitors from Hanoi.
According to deputy head of the district’s
culture-information bureau, Sunset resort, Beverlly resort, Dong Goi Eco Farm,
Phoenix Golf Resort, and Da Bac cave are the top local tourist
attractions.
Dong Goi Eco Farm, covering an area of 3.6
hectares, has particularly impressed the visitors with its tranquil beauty and
fresh air all year round. Two thirds of the farm acreage are used for organic farming
while four villas with 20 high-end rooms were constructed in the remaining
areas.
Nguyen Hong Hue from Hanoi’s Cau Giay district
said that she felt relaxed at the eco farm, and her children had the
opportunities to gain farming experience such as tree caring, fishing and
making several dishes from organic farm product.
At night, visitors can enjoy Muong ethnic
dancing and singing, drink ruou can (wine stored in a big jar and drunk with
long bamboo straws), and taste several local staples, she said.
Last year, the district People’s Committee
worked to enhance COVID-19 prevention and control at local tourist spots and
lodging facilities, launched some stimulus programmes such as "Vietnamese
people prioritise Vietnamese tourism”, and "Luong Son tourism- an attractive
weekend retreat”. Besides, it paid due attention to communication work at local
events.
Thanks to unceasing efforts of the local
authorities, the district has proved it is a safe and attractive destination.
Last year, it welcomed some 161,100 tourists, including 83,149 foreigners, and
gained over 337 billion VND (14.71 million USD) from tourism revenue./.
