(HBO) - A working delegation of the National Election Council (NEC) led by Pham Thi Thanh Tra, member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Home Affairs and member of the NEC, inspected election preparations in Hoa Binh province on May 14.
The delegation included representatives from the Ministry of
Health, the Ministry of Public Security and central agencies.
Ngo Van Tuan, member of the Party Central Committee,
Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and head of the province’s election
steering board, joined a working session with the inspection delegation.

According to a report of the provincial Election Committee,
the provincial Party Committee and authorities have given drastic instruction
to election preparation work, with the engagement of the entire political
system. Dissemination of information on the elections has been carried out
regularly and continuously in diverse forms. Facilities for the elections and
security work have been ensured. Specially, amidst complicated developments of
the Covid-19 pandemic, the provincial Election Committee has requested
tightened disease prevention and control.
Speaking at the event, Secretary Tuan emphasised that being
aware of the role and significance of the elections, the Standing Board of the
provincial Party Committee early issued a plan on election work, directed the
establishment of organisations in charge of election work, and at the same time
held training to improve the capacity of personnel involved in election
preparations.
Concluding the working session, Tra acknowledged the
province’s methodical and serious election preparations, with the direction
work being comprehensive, synchronous and in accordance with local reality.
The preparation is really serious and prompt, and associated
with the implementation of the dual targets of socio-economic development and
pandemic prevention and control, and attention has been paid to ensuring social
welfare, she stated.
The minister also said that as not much time is left until
the elections, the province needs to work toward the most important goal of
getting the highest turnout rate and ensuring that voters choose competent
deputies representing locals’ will and aspirations./.

Hoa Binh allocated over 30 trillion VND (nearly 1.18 billion USD) to develop infrastructure systems in ethnic minority and mountainous areas during 2019 - 2024. Priority was given to transport and irrigation infrastructure; markets; schools; medical stations; communal houses; and power grid, telecommunication, radio, and television systems.

Efforts have also been directed toward upgrading infrastructure and equipment to enhance service quality for residents and businesses.
