(HBO) – Hoa Binh and the neighbouring Son La have been discussing ways to develop a highway connecting the former’s Hoa Binh City and the latter’s Moc Chau district, with a view to early implementing the project to boost the two provinces’ development.
The Hoa Binh – Moc Chau highway starts at an interchange of
National Highway No.6 in Trung Minh commune, Hoa Binh City, the capital of Hoa
Binh province.
In 2018, the two provinces announced planning for the Hoa
Binh – Son La highway in 2018. Accordingly, the route will be nearly 190km long
with an estimated investment of 50.27 trillion VND.
The project includes two phases, with the first being the
Hoa Binh – Moc Chau highway. Authorities are considering technical standards for
the road and seeking eligible investors and suitable source of investment for
the Phase 1.
The Hoa Binh – Son La Expressway aims to connect Son La with
Hoa Binh and Hanoi and at large, create transport linkages between the Northwestern
region and the northern key economic region.
It is also intended to reduce pressure for National Highway
No.6, cut travel time from Hanoi to Hoa Binh City and Kim Boi, and boost
transport connectivity and trade between Hoa Binh and Ha Nam, Phu Tho and Son
La as well as between the provinces with the national transport network.
Additionally, the project will help Hoa Binh bring into the
full play its strengths and unleash its potential for the development of
services and tourism, and create new momentum for socio-economic development./.

The Standing Board of the Hoa Binh provincial Party Committee met on March 18 to review and guide major investment projects aimed at boosting local socio-economic development.

Welding sparks illuminate the faces of workers, and concrete mixers churn relentlessly, laying fresh pavement on the newly-carved road. The construction site buzzes with a palpable sense of urgency, particularly in Hoa Binh province where the expressway's future is being forged.
The northern province of Hoa Binh, with over 467,000 hectares of natural forest and more than 100,000 hectares of production forest, holds significant potential for carbon credit market development.
Replacing substandard houses with more sturdy ones by June 30 is the direction given by Nguyen Phi Long, alternate member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Hoa Binh provincial Party Committee, at a meeting held in early March by the provincial Steering Committee for the programme to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for the needy.
