(HBO) - Phong Phu commune is the economic, cultural and social centre of Tan Lac district with convenient location for the development of trade and service, industry, handicraft and agriculture. The Party Committee, authority and people of the commune have focused on promoting economic and infrastructure development, towards completing criteria on urban development and turning the commune into a town in 2024.
70 percent of the road from Muong Lo to
Muong Lam, one of the major roads in the urban planning programme of
Phong Phu commune (Tan Lac district), has been completed.
Phong Phu commune has 14 hamlets with more than 1,900 households. Chairman of
the communal People’s Committee Cao Ba Chinh said the local authority has made
the goal of completing the criteria for five-grade city and becoming a town an
important political task in the 2021-2025 period. Therefore, the Party
committee and authority of the commune has paid attention to popularizing this
plan in the community, and called for consensus and support of local residents,
thus facilitating construction of major projects.
The local authority has mobilized the participation of the whole
political system, concentrating on developing urban infrastructure, changing
economic restructure, improving the living standards of local people, and
accelerating urbanization.
In May 2021, Tan Lac district’s People's Committee announced a
1/500-scale construction planning of Phong Phu commune.
Phong Phu commune has mobilized resources for construct and upgrade
infrastructure facilities, especially key roads in the locality. Green park
planning is implemented in accordance with urban green standards. Drainage
systems have been built synchronously along main roads. Schools and medical
stations have bên upgraded to meet standards.
In parallel with
infrastructure development, the commune has implemented many solutions to
bolster economic development and improve incomes for local people. The economic
structure of the locality has shifted in the right direction. In which, trade
and services account for 50.58 percent; agriculture, forestry and fishery 39.8
percent, and the industry and handicraft 9.54 percent. Last year, the commune's
per capita income reached 57.65 million VND, while the percentage of poor
householdsstood at 5.4 percent.
Regarding the agriculture, forestry and fishery sectors, the commune has
actively changed thecrop structure by introducing new plant
varietieswithhigh yieldandquality.
The communal People's Committee has cooperated with the Agricultural Service
Centre of Tan Lac district to provide local farmers with knowledge and
techniques for planting, caring for, and controlling diseases for plants and
livestock.
