(HBO) – The Lunar New Year has started with a good
beginning. The social security and order in the province during Tet (Lunar New
Year) holiday has been secured and people are happy on the first days of the
year.

Many local residents have visited tourist sites, or
gone to temples and pagodas to pray for good health, peace and happiness. Many
community-based tourism sites and resorts in the province have no vacant rooms.
Tourism activities have been bustling since the beginning of the Lunar New
Year, promising a prosperous year in line with the government’s policy of safe
andflexible adaptationto the COVID-19 pandemic.
With the spirit of celebrating the new year without forgetting duties, farmers
in many localities started working on their fields with an enthusiastic working
spirit right from the third and the fourth day of the new lunar year.
The paddy fields are full of water, ready for planting rice. The fields on
higher areas are cultivated with other food crops. The fields in Chieng Ha
village in Mai Chau district’s Mai Ha commune are still crowded with farmers
around noon. Ngan Van Tich and his wife are busy planting watermelons in their
1,200 sq.m land plot with the hope of having a bumper crop.
Enterprises, industrial zones and clusters have also resumed their production
at the beginning of the new lunar year. Nguyen Quoc Thao, Director of SMA Vina
Viet-Han Garment Import Export JSC in Hoa Binh City’s Dan Chu Ward, welcomed
workers back to work with lucky money. The company also presented gifts to
workers on the occasion of Tet, paying special attention to those in difficult
circumstances. Therefore, employees are eager to return to work and feel
attached to the company.
The year 2021 was considered a success as many important events of the country
and the province had been organised successfully. It also marked a new stage of
development.
Entering the new year, the provincial administration has called on all
officials and people to continue to unite, promote patriotic emulation
movements, and make more efforts in effectively fulfilling the goals set in the
resolution of the 17th provincial Party Congress. Special attention should be
paid to controlling the COVID-19 pandemic, recovering and developing the
economy while ensuring social security./.
Over recent years, the Farmers' Union of Mai Chau district has implemented numerous specific programmes and activities to support its members in developing products under the One Commune One (OCOP) programme. Hoa Binh allocated over 30 trillion VND (nearly 1.18 billion USD) to develop infrastructure systems in ethnic minority and mountainous areas during 2019 - 2024. Priority was given to transport and irrigation infrastructure; markets; schools; medical stations; communal houses; and power grid, telecommunication, radio, and television systems.
The Hoa Binh provincial organising committee for anniversary activities on December 17 held a ceremony to unveil a ceramic mural on the local military-civilian ties and release a book on the Party and political work of the provincial armed forces during 1947 – 2024, in commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA) and 35th anniversary of the All-People Defence Festival.
In recent years, Hoa Binh has allocated significant resources to foster cooperative economy, helping ethnic minorities capitalise on their potential and advantages to escape poverty.
As a mountainous district still facing numerous challenges, Da Bac has made notable progress in advancing administrative reforms across various areas. The district has prioritised reorganising and streamlining its administrative apparatus, operating "one-stop-shop” units, and applying information technology (IT) in the handling of administrative procedures. Efforts have also been directed toward upgrading infrastructure and equipment to enhance service quality for residents and businesses.
