(HBO) – The People’s Committee of Luong Son district has recently held a ceremony to announce Cu Yen commune as a new-style rural area and mark the 60th anniversary of re-establishment of the commune (December 14, 1957-2017). Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Council Hoang Van Tu attended the event.

Yen commune as a new-style rural area to local Party Organisation, authorities
and people.
Under the leadership of the Party, the commune’s Party Organisation,
authorities and people have united to overcome all difficulties, build a strong
and transparent political system, maintain political security and social safety
and order, and boost economic development. Thanks to this, the commune has
reached important political and economic achievements, serving as a firm
foundation for the locality to implement the national target programme on
new-style rural area building.

leaders present certificates of merit to collectives with outstanding
achievements in turning Cu Yen into a new-style rural area in 2016.
After the five-year implementation of the national target programme
on new-style rural area building (2011-2016), Cu Yen commune got a facelift.
Infrastructure was upgraded, with a lot of spacious and modern facilities.
Agricultural production grew, socio-culture developed and social welfare was
ensured. Locals’ material and spiritual lives were improved while the political
security and social safety and order stabilised. Attention was paid to Party
building and the political system consolidation.
Annual per capita income doubled from 13.3 million VND (585.6 USD)
in 2011 to 26 million USD (1,144.7 USD) in 2016. Meanwhile, the poverty rate
fell from 4.2 percent to 2.92 percent in the period.
Acknowledging the joint efforts of the communal Party Organisation,
authorities and people, the provincial People’s Committee presented a
certificate recognising Cu Yen as a new-style rural commune in 2016 and a
social welfare facility worth 500 million VND (22,015 USD) to the commune.
On this occasion, on behalf of the provincial Party Committee,
People’s Committee, People’s Council, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee,
Hoang Van Tu presented a basket of flowers to congratulate the commune on its
new status. The People’s Committee of Luong Son district also granted
certificates of merit to 10 collectives and 20 individuals who had outstanding
achievements in turning Cu Yen into a new-style rural area in 2016./.
On November the first, the Provincial People's Committee held a meeting for the reports on the progress of preparations to hold the Ceremony to receive the Certificate of the special national relic ranking for Trai Cave, the Stone Roof of Vanh village (Lac Son district) and the Opening Ceremony of the Culture - Tourism Week of Hoa Binh province in 2024. Mr. Nguyen Van Toan, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, the Head of the Organizing Committee of Culture - Tourism Week chaired the meeting.

The congress is slated for November 14-15 at the provincial Cultural Palace, expecting 250 official delegates.
Despite a low starting point, the mountainous district of Mai Chau has effectively implemented the National Target Programme on New Rural Development, resulting in significant improvements in people’s life and rural look.
