HBO – The People’s Committee of Cao Phong district opened the third Cao Phong Orange Festival and the Cao Phong Trade Fair 2017 on November 18 in the presence of Vice Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Van Quang.

Orange has brought about high economic efficiency for Cao Phong district. It was the province’s first agricultural product receiving geographical indication (GI) protection in 2014. Last year, the International Intellectual Property Institute recognised the fruit as one of the ten most popular Vietnamese trademarks, creating a breakthrough in the province’s agricultural development orientation.

Cao Phong now has 2,800ha of citrus trees with a forecast output of 33,000 tonnes valued at around 600 billion VND (26.4 million USD). The local orange varieties are planted and cared following VIETGAP standards, ensuring quality and food safety and hygiene.
