(HBO) – Over recent years, authorities of Hoa Binh province have paid special heed to creating jobs for and supporting women in starting their business, especially poor women and those in rural and ethnic minority areas. Local women have been facilitated to access capital, plant varieties and livestock, and scientific and technological advances to develop production, thus improving their incomes.

Lac Son Electronic Co., Ltd generates jobs for hundreds of local labourers, mainly female workers.

Mrs. Bui Thi Nhan's family is a typical example of economic development from planting fruit trees and livestock development in Bai Tam hamlet, Du Sang commune (Kim Boi district).

Nhan said after learning techniques and making field trips to orchards, her family planted 300 five-year citrus trees for five year, which bring an income of 200 million VND per year. The family also planted 1,000 orange trees for three years that start to bearfruitfor the first year, which are expected to generate 200 million VND per year.

The family is also breading 100 commercial pigs, earning about 250 million VND per year. The initial success from the cultivation and livestock model has helped her family improve incomes, contributing to the locality’s socio-economic development.

The women’s union of Du Sang commune has also paid attention to creating jobs and supporting local women in starting business.

Entrusted loan activities with the Bank for Social Policies, the Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development, Lien Viet Bank have been strengthened with a total outstandingconcessionalloans of over 1.65 trillion VND, benefiting 31,371 local residents.

Creating jobs for female labourers requires the participation of the entire political system, people and businesses.
