(HBO) – Secretary of the Party Committee of Hoa Binh province Nguyen Phi Long chaired a regular meeting of the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee on January 13 to give opinions on a number of important contents.

Regarding Project No.1 of the Party Committee of Mai Chau district on mobilising resources to build Mai Chau town into a tier-4 urban area, the district has basically completed the criteria of the tier-4 urban area.

The district strives to develop Mai Chau urban area into a tourism and service hub in the western sub-region of the province with an infrastructure foundation for developing ecological, smart and green areas which provide environmentally friendly resort services imbued with local identities.

It will focus on mobilising resources and improving the efficiency of investment in urban infrastructure, and constructing a number of key works which will serve as motivation for socio-economic development in the locality.

Attention will be paid to developing tourism - services and hi-tech agriculture to promote urban development, and giving priority to investing in key projects to attract other projects, thus creating breakthroughs and contributing to the locality’s socio-economic development in associated with sustainable urban development in accordance with the district’s urban master plan.

Members of the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee also commented on proposals of the Party Civil Affairs Board of the provincial People's Committee on contents related to changing land-use purposes to implement projects in the locality; a proposal of the provincial Party Committee’s Board for Information and Education and the draft plan of the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee on organising meetings with outstanding journalists on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2023; a report on the result of exports of key agricultural and forestry products in 2022; and a report on the implementation of key investment projects in 2023.

Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Nguyen Phi Long asked sectors and localities to immediately embark on political tasks in early 2023 with the highest determination and responsibility, thus creating a premise for successfully performing the tasks set for 2023.

He also underlined the need to take measures to ensure adequate supplies of essential goods, and pay special heed to taking care of poor people during the coming Lunar New Year (Tet) festival./.

Hoa Binh allocated over 30 trillion VND (nearly 1.18 billion USD) to develop infrastructure systems in ethnic minority and mountainous areas during 2019 - 2024. Priority was given to transport and irrigation infrastructure; markets; schools; medical stations; communal houses; and power grid, telecommunication, radio, and television systems.
