(HBO) – The spring weather has motivated local farmers in Hoa Binh province to go down to fields, striving to take advantage of the best weather conditions to complete the cultivation.

Since the fifth and sixth days of the lunar
year, farmers in towns and communes in Lac Thuy district have begun the
cultivation, with the total farming area exceeding 1,890 hectares so far. The
locality expects to complete the planting of rice within this month and of
other crops before March 15.
Hoang Dinh Chinh, deputy head of Lac Thuy
district’s bureau of agriculture and rural development, said to ensure the 2023
spring crop progress, the district has outlined a production plan since the
beginning of the year, and guided farmers to take measures in order to protect
rice and other crops.
The farming area for the winter-spring crop in
Luong Son district is projected at 4,134 hectares, with 1,900 hectares for
rice.
Meanwhile, the area in Hoa Binh is set at over
62,500 hectares, with that for sugarcane expected to rise to 7,300 hectares,
and citrus, some 7,500 hectares.
According to Nguyen Huy Nhuan, Director of the
provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the localities are
working hard in preparing materials, seedlings and fertilisers to meet
production demand of farmers.
