Mr. Bui Van Duong in Gia Phu hamlet, Gia Mo commune (Tan Lac district) has switched to pumpkin cultivation for seeds. The sale of products has been guaranteed because his family signed a cooperation contract with businesses. Accordingly, the businesses will provide seedlings, some necessary materials and technical support for his family to produce high-quality products.
Duong said the cooperation help stablise the price of products, therefore his family only focuses on taking care of the crop in accordance with the technique in order to produce high-quality products with high productivity. The product consumption linkage has been also increasingly focused on key agricultural products of the province, especially citrus fruits.
Mrs. Nguyen Thi Hong Luan’s family in Phu Nghia commune (Lac Thuy district) has planted orange trees for ten years. In recent years, Lac Thuy has focused on promoting consumption linkages for local farmers. The local cooperatives have enhanced coordination in production, and connected multiple channels to consume products. During the complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic in the last two years, Lac Thuy’s farmers have sought to sell their products on e-commerce platforms.
Hoang Dinh Chinh, Deputy head of the Division of Agriculture and Rural Development of Lac Thuy district, said efforts to ensure the stable consumption have helped raise the price of products and the incomes for farmers. The district's authorities have encouraged businesses to invest in agricultural development and boost linkages with farmers in selling products, he stressed. The consumption linkages have helped local farmers produce proactively and minimise risks before market fluctuations.
