Every year, during this time, key leaders of Hoa Binh make visits to the Truong
Son National Martyrs’ Cemetery and the Road 9 National Martyrs’ Cemetery in
Quang Tri province to pay respect to fallen heroes buried there. Hundreds of
war martyrs from Hoa Binh province, together with many from across the nation,
rest in eternal peace at these cemeteries.
During this month, officials and localities also take time to visit and present
gifts to heroic Vietnamese mothers, wounded soldiers, veterans, and families of
fallen heroes and those who were victims of toxic chemicals during the war.
Departments, agencies, mass organisations and individuals frequently visit and
encourage them, thus upholding the revolutionary tradition, setting a shining
example for the younger generations, contributing to building a prosperous
homeland.
Over the past years, under the leadership of the provincial Party Committee,
the People's Council and People's Committee, the State policies towards those
who have rendered meritorious services have been implemented in a timely and
synchronous manner.
Various movements of gratitude have spread widely. Apart from ensuring monthly
allowances for over 8,000 people with meritorious services, other supportive
policies have also been carried out. All communes, wards and towns in Hoa Binh
have been recognised for performing well in the care for wounded soldiers,
martyrs and those with meritorious services. Up to 99.6% of policy beneficiary
households and those with meritorious service have a standard of living equal
to or higher than the average living standards of residents in the same
locality.
The 76th anniversary of Martyrs and Invalids’ Day (July 27) is an opportunity
to raise public awareness of and promote the full implementation of the Party's
guidelines, policies, and State laws regarding the preferential treatment for
those with meritorious service. Through this, the patriotic tradition is passed
down through generations and the movement of "gratitude and
repayment" is spread out.
