Participants said the additional budget estimate for the provincial Social Security is appropriate given the current circumstances, in order to ensure the rights and interests of those participating in health insurance and achieve the 2023 goal of reaching a health insurance coverage rate of 95.2% of the total local population (90.27% in 2022). It is also aimed at allocating sufficient funds for those covered by the State budget and providing support for health insurance coverage as stipulated.

They offered feedback on the wood processing and biomass pellet plant in Yen Bong commune, Lac Thuy district. This project has a total investment of over 815 billion VND (33.9 million USD), covering an area of over 160,000sq.m. Once completed, it will manufacture interior wood materials to meet domestic and export demands, contributing to the development of the local wood processing industry, generating jobs to local workers and increasing State budget revenue.

Concluding the event, Long underscored the importance of social insurance policies and agreed with the proposal from the Civil Affairs Board of the provincial People’s Committee regarding the supplementary budget for the provincial social security to purchase health insurance for those covered by the State budget and support coverage for 2023. He suggested ensuring the correct use of State budget to purchase health insurance for the people, holding awareness campaigns to encourage the public, especially those in remote areas, to undergo regular health check-ups and ensure their rights in using health insurance. He asked relevant authorities to regularly inspect health insurance expenditures to prevent abuse and exploitation of health insurance policies.

About the wood processing and biomass pellet plant project in Yen Bong commune, Lac Thuy district, the provincial Party Secretary agreed with the need to launch the project which is to contribute to promoting the forestry economy, improving the value of forest products and actively addressing local employment.
