A working team from the Hoa Binh Party Committee led by Nguyen Phi Long, alternate member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, inspected the preservation and promotion of the cultural values of the Muong culture and the making of planning for a reservation space for the Muong culture in Phong Phu commune of Tan Lac district on March 6.

In order to preserve and promote the cultural identity of the Muong ethnic
minority community in the district, Tan Lac has issued many resolutions, plans
and projects aiming to enhance the awareness of local officials, Party members
and the community in the work.
Along with maintaining the values of traditional houses, costumes and
traditional practices of Muong people, the locality has paid great attention to
traditional Muong festivals such as Khai ha festival, Ke Pagoda festival, and
fishing festival.
However, the efforts have faced many difficulties, including the inefficient
use of resources in some projects and shortcomings in optimising mechanisms and
policies as well as cultural heritages for tourism development.
The district has asked for support from the province in building the Muong
cultural space project in Luy Ai commune, as well as support to artisans and
practitioners of typical cultural heritages of the Muong community.
Long and the working team visited Ai hamlet in Phong Phu district, in which
cultural values and living spaces of the Muong people are being maintained.
In 2008, Ai hamlet was recognised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and
Tourism as a typical traditional village of ethnic minority groups and a
village representing the Muong group. In 2027, as part of a project to pilot
the merging and completion of residential areas of Hoa Binh, Ai and Luy
villages were merged into Luy Ai village with more than 200 households and 930
people, 97% of whom are from Muong ethnic minority group.
The former Ai village is home to 19 out of the 34 traditional tilt houses,
becoming a community-based tourism site.
The Muong culture preservation space is designed on 125 hectares with a tourism
service centre, hotels, farms, festival spaces, homestays, resorts, residential
areas, and nature exploring areas.
Long lauded the efforts of the Party Committee, administration, and people of
Tan Lac and relevant agencies in protecting and promoting traditional values of
Muong people.
He asked Tan Lac to coordinate closely with departments, sectors and agencies
to ensure the quality and long-term vision of the planning, with special
attention to maintaining the traditional culture of the Muong people and
preserving the landscape, architecture, customs, lifestyle, and cultural
heritage of the community in the former Ai hamlet, and expanding tourism
spaces. Alongside, the locality should design policies to mobilise resources
for the construction of infrastructure system and sustainable exploitation of
values of the Muong culture for sustainable tourism development and improving
locals’ livelihood, he stressed.
Local people across Hoa Binh province enjoyed the festive spirit of the 2025 Lunar New Year (Tet) with joy, cultural traditions, and heartfelt family gatherings.
During this Lunar New Year (Tet), residents of Vay Nua commune, Da Bac district are joyfully celebrating the arrival of spring with various festive activities. Along the main road of the commune, a newly installed solar-powered streetlight system stands out, completed just before Tet. Funded by Agribank Hoa Binh with a total investment of approximately 80 million VND (over 3,100 USD), the project has already proven beneficial. Not only does it enhance the rural landscape, but it also improves road safety and security, adding to the New Year’s cheer for the people of Vay Nua.

Winding roads gracefully embrace the hillsides, enhancing the commune’s natural charm. As spring spreads its vibrant colours, the lives of local people continue to improve day by day.
