Sub-Department and representatives of food manufacturers and business
facilities in Hoa Binh sign a commitment on ensuring food safety.
Addressing the launching ceremony, a representative from the provincial
Department of Health said that over the years, local authorities and residents
have paid great attention to food safety. The steering committees for food
safety have been set up from the provincial to communal levels, while
departments, agencies and organisations have shown close coordination in
protecting food safety, and various communications activities have been
conducted in the field.
However, the province has still faced many challenges in ensuring food safety,
said the representative, adding that the action month for food safety 2024 will
focus on ensuring food safety and security in the new situation.
Specifically, during the month, the province will strengthen communications to
enhance public awareness of food security and safety as well as legal
regulations on food safety, while increasing supervision over food safety and
measures to prevent and handle violations in the field. At the same time,
activities will be strengthened to improve residents’ capacity to prevent and
deal with food poisoning and food-borne diseases, thus minimising poisoning due
to unsafe food consumption.

Following the ceremony was a parade through main roads in Hoa Binh city to
raise awareness and sense of responsibility among manufacturers, organisations
and individuals engaging in food production about legal regulations on food
safety, contributing to minimising the risks of food poisoning.
