The Vietnam Digital Communication Association and VietTimes e-magazine recently held the 2024 Vietnam Digital Awards ceremony. The organizers honored 45 organizations and the outstanding digital transformation solutions across the country. Hoa Binh General Hospital was among the award recipients for its "Electronic Medical Records Replacing Paper-Based Records” solution in the "Outstanding Digital Transformation in Enterprises and Public Units” category.

Dr. Nguyen Hoang Dieu, the Director of Hoa Binh General Hospital, received the award from the organizing committee.

In line with the Prime Minister's Decision No. 749/QĐ-TTg on the "National Digital Transformation Program to 2025 with a Vision to 2030”, which prioritizes the healthcare as a key sector for the digital transformation, and the Ministry of Health's Decision 5316/QĐ-BYT, Hoa Binh General Hospital has emerged as a pioneer in the digital transformation within Hoa Binh's healthcare sector.

The hospital has invested in the infrastructure and implemented IT applications in its medical services. Currently, 100% of the hospital's departments are equipped with networked computers. Various software systems, including HIS, LIS, PACS, and other support applications, have been installed and are in use. The hospital has also promoted the use of electronic medical records, an electronic prescription management system, remote medical consultations, and the development of artificial intelligence (AI) applications in healthcare. In May 2024, the hospital launched an online appointment registration system through a mobile app and a free hotline, which has been well-received by patients. One notable smart application introduced by the hospital is the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), allowing the storage and online access to all diagnostic imaging data. Doctors and patients can view the images from anywhere. The digital transformation efforts have brought significant benefits to the hospital's operations and services.
