(HBO) - The Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee organised a national videoconference meeting to carry out and supervise the implementation of policies in support of people affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Delegates heard
leading officials of the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs and
the VFF Central Committee guiding the implementation of the Government’s
Resolution No.42/NQ-CP dated April 9, 2020 on measures to support people
affected by the COVID-19, and the Prime Minister’s Decision No.15/2020/QD-TTg
dated April 24, 2020 stipulating the implementation of support policies and the
supervision over the implementation. A representative from the Vietnam Post
provided guidance on applying information technology in serving payments.
Addressing the event,
President of the VFF Central Committee Tran Thanh Man affirmed that Resolution
No.42 is an unprecedented big social welfare policy which covers a large number
of beneficiaries and serves as a lifebuoy for those affected by the pandemic.
He asked for supporting
affected people promptly and accurately. He requested the VFF at all levels to
coordinate with the labour, invalids and social affairs sector in making lists
of beneficiaries so as to avoid missing any beneficiaries and prevent any
actions that take advantage of the funding.
It is necessary to
make public the list of beneficiaries as well as their allowances, and the
phone numbers and email addresses of VFF officials from the central to
grassroots levels so that people can directly make petitions, Man stated.
He also required
clarifying the responsibility of the Party Committees, local authorities, the
VFF and its chapters, and the labour, invalids and social affairs sector, and
making clear the dates of beginning and finishing the support programme.
Minister of Labour,
Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung stressed the need to carry out the
programme as soon as possible.
Local authorities
should ensure the openness and transparency and take responsibility in front of
the Government, the local Party Committees and People’s Councils. He encouraged the
payment via banks and the implementation of procedures via the online public
services portal. The ministry will
promptly answer questions of localities, he added./.
