(HBO) - Member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Bui Van Tinh on June 10 had a working session with representatives from local departments and sectors, focusing on social investment for developing culture and sport establishments in the locality.
Member of the Party Central Committeeand Secretary of
the provincial Party Committee Bui Van Tinh speaks at the working session.
Hoa Binh now has eight provincial-level
culture and sport facilities, including a culture palace, a library, a cinema
house, a museum, a stadium, a gymnasium, a swimming pool, and a dormitory area
for students and athletes.
All the 10 districts of
Hoa Binh have communal houses and stadiums, while five have libraries. As many
as 72 percent of the total communes, wards and towns, and 86 percent of the total
hamlets and villages have communal houses.
At the working session, representatives
of the provincial culture, sports and tourism sector reported on the current
status of the culture and sport establishments.
The provincial culture palace is being repaired and upgraded to serve the 17thprovincial Party Congress. The project will be completed and put into operation
in late August 2020. Other facilities such as the swimming pool and stadium are
downgrading and need repair.
They proposed the provincial People’s Committee to approve a project on leasing,
upgrading and utilising the stadium, so that the socialisation work could soon
be implemented; add the provincial gymnasium in the public investment portfolio
for the period of 2021 – 2025 and allow the construction of the project in the
Northwest Sports Complex on the left bank of Da River.
The culture, sports and tourism sector also proposed funding for repairing and
upgrading a number of other culture and sport facilities to serve the organisation
of community culture and sport events.
Secretary Tinh said in
recent times, the use and management of facilities serving culture and sport activities
in the locality have not been effective.
According to Tinh, the functions of these establishments have not yet fully
utilised, resulting in wastefulness. Meanwhile, investment from the State budget
has remained low and the social investment for the work has not proven effective.
As a result, the facilities have been degrading, and investment resources for those
wasted.
He underlined the need to implement Resolution No. 33-NQ/TW of the Executive
Board of the 11th Party Central Committee on developing Vietnamese
culture and people to meet the requirement of national sustainable development.
Accordingly, the locality will focus on building a long-term master plan for developing
culture and sport establishments.
It will also create the most favourable conditions for organisations and
individuals to invest in the development of culture and sport facilities on the
basis of regulations, towards ensuring investment efficiency and strict
management.
Tinh asked sectors and localities to coordinate closely in creating favourable conditions
for social investment in the work, as well as in managing and using culture and
sport facilities in the province./.
In the spirit of "Party members go first, the people follow”, all households of Party members in the Doan Ket sub-region in Da Bac town, Da Bac district, voluntarily removed gates and fences, and donated land when the road expansion project passed through their properties. Inspired by their example, 68 households in the sub-region quickly followed suit, contributing over 1,400 sq.m of residential and perennial cropland to widen the main road through the residential area. The exemplary role of Party members in Doan Ket stands as a shining example of studying and following President Ho Chi Minh’s thought, morality, and lifestyle.
