General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee Nguyen Phu Trong has offered congratulations to Xi Jinping on his re-election as General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee.

In his message, the Vietnamese leader also congratulated the 19th CPC National Congress on its success while highly valuing the creative development of the theory of building socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era.

He expressed his belief that under the leadership of the CPC Central Committee with Xi being the core, the entire CPC and Chinese people will definitely fulfil the tasks set by the Congress and soon achieve the target of basically realising socialist modernisation so as to build China into a great modern socialist country that is prosperous, strong, democratic, civilised, harmonious and beautiful.

He also appreciated the CPC General Secretary’s good sentiment and friendly attitude towards Vietnam and his important contributions to Vietnam-China relations over the past years.

General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong added he hopes Vietnam and China will together continue to develop the countries’ traditional friendship and comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership for the sake of the two peoples and for peace, stability and prosperity in the region and the world.

Also on October 25, Politburo member and Chairman of the CPV Central Committee’s Inspection Commission Tran Quoc Vuong extended congratulations to Zhao Leji, member of the CPC Politburo Standing Committee and Secretary of the CPC Central Committee’s Discipline Inspection Commission in the 19th tenure.
