(HBO) – The Party Committee of Hoa Binh province held a conference on August 10 to make a mid-term review on the implementation of the resolution of the 17th provincial Party Congress for the 2020-2025 tenure. The event was presided over by Nguyen Phi Long, alternate member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the provincial Party Committee; and Bui Van Khanh, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee.

Participants at the event agreed that amid difficulties, the provincial Party Committee has drastically, systematically and effectively implemented the resolution of the 17th provincial Party Congress for the 2020-2025 tenure, while giving many policies and measures to continue building and rectifying the Party and the political system, preventing negative phenomenon, fighting the COVID-19 pandemic, promoting economic recovery and development, and developing culture and society, enhancing local people's living conditions, reinforcing defence and security and strengthening external relations.

The province is likely to complete and exceed 17 goals by 2025. In the 2021-2023 period, the average GRDP growth in the province is estimated at 5.4%, while labour productivity is estimated to increase by 2.67% and export turnover is estimated to grow by about 18%. Total state budget revenue is expected to reach over 17.1 trillion VND (719.09 million USD).

At the end of 2023, the province’s per capita GRDP is expected to reach 70.16 million VND. Its urbanisation rate is likely to hit 33.45%, while the rate of poor households is expected to be reduced to 9.79%, and the ratio of locals joining social insurance is hoped to reach 95.2%. Hoa Binh plans to have 23 additional communes recognised as new-style rural areas, raising the total number to 79, accounting for 61.2% of total local communes. All production facilities causing environmental pollution are expected to be tackled, while the forest coverage rate is hoped to reach 51.69%.

Participants evaluated the performance of the provincial Party Committee, and gave ideas to strengthen the building and rectification of the Party and political system, promoting solidarity and creating social consensus in implementing targets set in the resolution of the 17th provincial Party Congress.

Concluding the conference, Nguyen Phi Long, alternate member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, underlined the need for the Party Committees and administrations at all levels, officials and Party members to work harder to complete all targets set in the resolution, focusing on the building and rectification of the Party and political system and strengthen supervision and inspection over areas with high risks of corruption.

He asked the administrations at all levels, sectors and localities in the province to concentrate on implementing four strategic breakthroughs: completing and effectively implementing the provincial planning project for the 2021-2030 period with a vision to 2050; speeding up administrative reform and improving the business environment; developing human resources in line with job creation and labour productivity improvement; and mobilising resources for socio-economic infrastructure system, especially transport system.

At the same time, it is necessary to continue to boost the development of other areas such as tourism, society, culture, health care and education, he said, asking for efforts to prepare for the 18th provincial Party Congress for the 2025-2030 tenure.

Prioritizing the resources to achieve the goals for children

Mr. Nguyen Phi Long, the alternate Member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee chaired the meeting of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee to provide opinions on several investment projects within the province. There was the attendance of Ms. Bui Thi Minh, the Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Council; Mr. Bui Đuc Hinh, the Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee and other members of the Standing Committee; the leaders from other departments, agencies, and some localities.

The Standing Board of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Committee of Hoa Binh province held a meeting on May 28 to honour outstanding village elders, village heads, and reputable individuals from local ethnic minority and religious communities.
