(HBO) – The resolution of the 28th Party Congress of An Binh commune in Lac Thuy district sets a target of turning the commune into an advanced new-style rural area in 2025. To this end, it defines three strategic breakthroughs and eight major groups of solutions, focusing on promoting the pioneering role of Party members in economic development and new-style rural area building.
Thanks to large timber forest plantation,
many households in An Binh commune of Lac Thuy district have started plywood
production, creating jobs for many local labourers.
Cay Ruong is a far-flung village where local residents once struggled with many
difficulties. However, in recent years, many effective economic models have
been developed in the village, creating jobs for local labourers thanks to the
promotion of the pioneering role of local Party members.
Do Thi Lien, Secretary of the Party cell of Cay Ruong village said that making
use of the locality’s advantage in massive forest and hill area, many local
Party members have developed breeding farms with linkage with food processing
companies, associated with planting acacia, resulting in high economic efficiency.
From the first farms developed by local Party members, to date, Cay Ruong has
eight chicken and pig farms combined with forest planting. Per capita income in
the locality has reached 80 million VND (3,278 USD) each year, while the rate
of poor households has been reduced to 14%, said Lien.
Along with their leading role in economic development, Party members in An Binh
have initiated many effective models in completing criteria for an advanced
new-style rural area.
Meanwhile, Ninh Ngoai village has become the first in An Binh to sort out
domestic waste at home and collect waste for concentrated treatment.
Bui Thanh Hien, Secretary of the Party cell of Ninh Ngoai said that 100% of
members of the Party cell have implemented waste sorting at home, while
encouraging other families to do the same, thus creating a consensus in the
work, contributing to completing the environmental protection criterion for a
new-style rural area.
Thanks to effective models initiated by Party members and joint efforts of local
residents, last year, the commune's total agro-forestry production value
reached 161.89 billion VND, while handicraft production hit 193.5 billion VND.
With the contributions of locals, the commune has built more than 10km of roads
with flowers planted along two sides, making the locality greener and more
beautiful.
Dinh Minh Mao, Secretary of the Party Committee of An Binh, said that by
focusing on the three strategic breakthroughs of rural infrastructure, human
resources development and administrative reform, and implementing the eight
major groups of solutions, in the first two years implementing the resolution,
the commune has completed 23 socio-economic targets and one target in Party
building set in the resolution.
The commune’s average growth rate of production value has reached 14.2% per
year, while the poverty rate has been reduced by 2.5% per year. AN Binh has
completed 17 out of 19 criteria for an advanced new-style rural area.
Meanwhile, progress has been seen in other fields such as culture, education,
and health care, while social welfare, defence and security have been ensured,
said Mao.
In the spirit of "Party members go first, the people follow”, all households of Party members in the Doan Ket sub-region in Da Bac town, Da Bac district, voluntarily removed gates and fences, and donated land when the road expansion project passed through their properties. Inspired by their example, 68 households in the sub-region quickly followed suit, contributing over 1,400 sq.m of residential and perennial cropland to widen the main road through the residential area. The exemplary role of Party members in Doan Ket stands as a shining example of studying and following President Ho Chi Minh’s thought, morality, and lifestyle.
