Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Quang and the
delegation inspect site clearance for the project on upgrading road 435.
Road 435 stretches as far as 10.2km, starting from the intersection of Cun
slope, Thai Binh ward, Hoa Binh city on the way to Binh Thanh ward, Cao Phong
district. It was built in November 2016 and is scheduled for completion in 2020
at a total cost of 283 billion VND by the management board for transport
construction projects. Up to 76.5 billion VND has been disbursed. Nearly 14.8
percent of work has been completed while the progress of site clearance is
slower than expected.
Concluding the working session, Quang said the major project plays an important
role in improving transport, socio-economic development, especially given that
Hoa Binh lake is zoned off as a national tourist area. The project began in
late 2016 but its progress is slow with difficulties regarding site clearance
and compensation, partly due to the loose coordination between the investor and
local administrations.
In order to ensure the project’s progress, Chairman of the provincial People’s
Committee asked the investor to work closely with departments and agencies
concerned and People’s Committees of cities and districts to devise detailed
plans on the progress of site clearance and the safety of households vulnerable
to construction before May 20.
The investor was required to hold monthly meetings with departments and
agencies to deal with difficulties while relevant units must work closely
together to prioritise funding for site clearance, resettlement, thus making it
easier for the contractor to complete the project as planned.
