HBO – The People’s Committee of Hoa Binh province has recently organised a conference to review the 6-year implementation of the Inspection Law under the chair of Chairman Nguyen Van Quang.

Mr Nguyen Van Quang, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, grants certificates of merit of the People’s Committees to nine collectives which have excellent performances in the emulation movement in combination with the 6-year enforcement of the Inspection Law during 2011-2016.

 The Inspection Law 2010 has created an important legal framework and a stride in people’s consciousness of inspection activities, thus making the work more active and effective. Since the law took effect, the province’s inspection work has progressed, with a lot of violations detected and petitions solved productively.

 Over the past six years, the sector conducted 1,862 financial and specialisedinspections in all fields, discovering violations incurring losses of over 110 billion VND. More than 47 billion VND were retrieved for the State budget. The sector also received no complaints about its inspection conclusions.

 Speaking at the conference, Chairman Nguyen Van Quang said that the event offered a chance to review the implementation of the Inspection Law 2010.

 Participants reached a consensus on contents of a report delivered at the event. Six of them clarified difficulties and shortcomings during the enforcement process.

 To continue the effective implementation of the law, Quang asked offices, units, districts and city to grasp thoroughly and intensify dissemination on the law.

 The inspection sector needs make specific and scientific plans, focus specialised inspections on several fields, and actively advise the provincial People’s Committee to steer the inspection work, thus contributing to preventing corruption and wastefulness and boosting socio-economic development.

 Meanwhile, departments and localities should disseminate more about laws related to financial and land management, strictly follow the Government Inspectorate’s directions on solving overlaps in inspections that annoy inspected subjects, intensify the responsibility of officials in citizen reception and complaint settlement as well as responsibility of heads of offices and units in implementing assigned tasks.

 At the conference, nine collectives and 20 individuals standing out in the emulation movement in combination with the 6-year enforcement of the Inspection Law during 2011-2016 received certificates of merit of the Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee./.
