(HBO) – The business association of Hoa Binh province has organised a conference to introduce local investment potential and opportunities as well as share experience in enhancing the provincial competitiveness index (PCI).

The event was attended by Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Bui Van Tinh, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Van Quang, Chairman of the Vietnam Small and Medium Enterprises Association Nguyen Van Than, Vice President of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry Hoang Quang Phong, Head of the Vietnam Institute of Economics Tran Dinh Thien, and leaders of 23 business associations in northern cities and provinces.

Hoa Binh province, which borders Hanoi to north and northeast and is in the Hanoi capital region master plan city of Hanoi, boasts the richness of mineral, land, forest and water resources. The locality poses huge potential for industrial, trade and service development. Particularly, the province has attracted heavy investments in infrastructure, with the Hoa Lac-Hoa Binh expressway to be put into operation which helps shorten travelling time to the capital centre. The province is working to become an attractive destination for investors.

At the event, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Bui Van Tinh spoke highly of the organisation of the conference, which introduces local strengths and favourable investment policies.

He shared experience in improving business climate and raising competitive capacity to northern localities.

The provincial leaders are working to remove bottlenecks, and share difficulties with local firms, he noted, hoping that the investors will carry out investment projects to tape its strengths and potential in support industry, high-quality agriculture, Hoa Binh reservoir tourism, and agricultural and eco-tourism, creating motivation to attract more investments as well as make a breakthrough in local socio-economic development.

Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Van Quang committed to directing relevant departments, sectors and localities to join hands with the business association to carry out solutions to clearing out challenges, enhancing competitive capacity, and giving more support to local companies./.
