Addressing the conference, PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc acknowledged the efforts made by the Party organisation, administration and people of Hoa Binh to fulfil socio-economic targets of 2018. He noted the success of the investment promotion event, which drew 94 trillion VND, equivalent to over 4 billion USD, invested by many big domestic and foreign investors.

The PM stressed that Hoa Binh is facing opportunities for breakthrough development, especially with the completion of the Hoa Lac-Hoa Binh road. As one of the 10 localities in the capital region, Hoa Binh boasts many advantages in terms of natural landscape and rich cultural heritage, he said, noting that the province has good opportunities, favourable location and rich human resources.

PM Phuc suggested that Hoa Binh and investors in the province should develop long-term and synchronous planning for sectors and fields as the foundation for investment attraction and the development of tourism and services. Another direction is to tap the local potential to develop farm and forestry product processing for supply for the Hanoi capital region and for export. The local natural conditions are also suitable for the development of ecological and green urban areas into urban chains which can drive local growth.

The PM also urged the province to accelerate the restructuring of agriculture in the direction of optimising local advantages in water surface and forestry land for aquaculture and forestry development.

He recommended Hoa Binh to promote services to serve both local residents and investors, while focusing on improving the business environment and supporting investors by removing obstacles to investment projects.

Hoa Binh must ensure that economic growth goes in tandem with social equity, and strive for inclusive growth so that every resident benefits from the fruit of development, leaving no one behind, particularly those in the mountainous areas and people of ethnic minority groups, the PM said. He reminded the province to promote linkages with other localities for better tap potential and opportunities.

At the conference, the Hoa Binh People’s Committee presented rewards to 10 investors with great contributions to the province’s socio-economic development.
