(HBO) - A seminar and exchange among youths, students and war veterans was jointly held by the Association of War Veterans, the chapter of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the department of Education and Training of Hoa Binh City on April 18 in the city.

The event aims to educate local youths on the revolutionary tradition and provide them historical knowledge on the occasion of the 50thanniversary of the implementation of President Ho Chi Minh's testament, the 44thanniversary ofliberationofthe southand national reunification,and the 65th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu victory.

At the exchange, representatives of the Youth Union and students in Hoa Binh city heard historical witnesses tell stories about heroic fighting spirit of Vietnamese soldiers in the cause of national defense in the past.

Over 300 youths and students in Hoa Binh city met and heard stories about the years of heroic and arduous fighting, and sacrifices by their predecessors for the national independence and freedom in the Dien Bien Phu historical victory 65 years ago; in the Ho Chi Minh Campaign which peaked on April 30, 1975, and battles on the northern border areas in the 1979-1989 period. The stories were told by Lieutenant General, Armed Forces Hero Pham Tuan; Major General Nguyen Duc Huy, head of the liaison department of war veterans in Vi Xuyen; Armed Forces Hero Pham Minh Giam - a war veteran of Dong Tien ward of Hoa Binh city.

The event helped youths and students in Hoa Binh city understand more about the brave fighting spirit, patriotism and staunch will of soldiers, thus educating them on the national pride and thetraditionof "Whendrinking water,rememberitssources, towards encouraging them to contribute to the national construction and defence at present./.
