(HBO) - Cao Phong district of Hoa Binh has made big strides forward after over 10 years of carrying out the national target programme of building new-style rural areas, giving a facelift to its rural area and infrastructure and significantly improving local people’s lives.
So far, four out of the
nine communes in the district have been recognised as new-style rural areas,
one residential area as exemplary new-style rural areas and seven gardens as model
gardens. The district has
fulfilled five out of nine criteria for new-style rural district on the way to receive
the title by 2025.

To realise the set
target, since the start of this year, the People’s Committee of the district
instructed communes to devise plans and roadmaps for achieving criteria for a
new-style rural area. This year, the district will mobilise all possible
sources to help Bac Phong commune win the title. The most disadvantaged commune
of Thach Yen is hoped to receive the recognition by 2024.
Cao Phong has rolled
out synchronous solutions to bolster production, raise income for rural
dwellers and encourage the application of science-technology so as to increase
output, quality and ensure food safety.
The district also
creates the best conditions for agricultural firms and cooperatives to operate
while fostering effective partnership models in agriculture. In allocating
funding, priority is given to supporting cooperatives and building models of
production chain to create jobs and improve income for the rural population,
for sustainable poverty reduction and social welfare.

Phong People’s Committee Quach Van Ngoan said that the district is working to
gradually satisfy the four remaining criteria which are transportation,
irrigation, health care-culture-education, and environment./.
Luong Son district is leveraging its existing advantages and maximizing resources to improve infrastructure, aiming to achieve town status by 2025.
Hoa Binh province has employed diverse measures to remove temporary and dilapidated houses for low-income families over the past time. The effort has received the support from the State, all-level agencies, as well as individuals in and outside the province, helping poor and disadvantaged households, especially ethnic minority people, repair or build new homes.
Hoa Binh province’s steering board for implementing the plan on preserving and promoting the values of the Muong ethnic culture and the Hoa Binh Civilisation during 2023 - 2030 held a meeting on November 6 to review the plan implementation. The event was chaired by Nguyen Phi Long, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, and head of the steering board.
On November 2nd, the Residential Group No.3, Ky Son Ward (Hoa Binh City) organized the Great National Solidarity and the Culture Festival between the local people and the armed forces in 2024. There was the attendance of Mr. NguyenVan Thang, the Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, the Secretary of Hoa Binh City Party Committee and the leaders from several departments and branches.

On November the first, the Provincial People's Committee held a meeting for the reports on the progress of preparations to hold the Ceremony to receive the Certificate of the special national relic ranking for Trai Cave, the Stone Roof of Vanh village (Lac Son district) and the Opening Ceremony of the Culture - Tourism Week of Hoa Binh province in 2024. Mr. Nguyen Van Toan, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, the Head of the Organizing Committee of Culture - Tourism Week chaired the meeting.
