Hoa Binh wins two gold prizes at Business Initiative Challenge

(HBO) – Two projects of Hoa Binh province won gold prizes in the final round of the Business Initiative Challenge which was held virtually on November 11.

The contest was designed for young people of ethnic groups with new and innovative startup ideas which contribute to local economic development.

It was sponsored by the European Union and Standard Chartered Vietnam and carried out by the Aide et Action, the north western cooperation and development centre and the youth federations of Hoa Binh and Lao Cai provinces.

Members in 13 outstanding projects of the two provinces presented their ideas to call for investment.

Ethnic youths with startup ideas which have yet to be realised or are running household businesses, cooperatives, small-and medium-sized enterprises, between the ages of 16 and 30, especially females, were eligible for the contest.

The projects covered various sectors, notably in tourism, agriculture, and business operation adjustments to adapt to COVID-19. They aimed to resolve social and environmental issues in line with local development orientations.

Hoa Binh had more than 10 projects, of them four in the group of contestants residing in Da Bac and Mai Chau districts competed in the final round.

They included a project to restore and conserve ‘do’ paper making by Lo Thi Trang and another to produce natural yarn from gai (ramie) plant by Trinh Thi Thanh Hoa in Da Bac district.

The other was a project on ‘pieu’ scarf by Ha Thi Hoa and another on Hang Kia tourism and agricultural services by Giang A La in Mai Chau.

The organising board presented the gold prizes to five projects of Hoa Binh and Lao Cai. Two honoured projects of Hoa Binh were the one to produce natural yarn from gai (ramie) plant and another on Hang Kia tourism and agricultural services.

Each project will receive an assistance worth 120 million VND (5,300 USD) and support from the organisers for the projects’ launch in 2022.

Besides, two projects of Lao Cai were honoured with the ‘impressive award’.

Hoa Binh mobilises resources to do away with temporary, dilapidated houses

Hoa Binh province has employed diverse measures to remove temporary and dilapidated houses for low-income families over the past time. The effort has received the support from the State, all-level agencies, as well as individuals in and outside the province, helping poor and disadvantaged households, especially ethnic minority people, repair or build new homes.

Official asks for stronger implementation of plan on Muong ethnic culture, Hoa Binh Civilisation

Hoa Binh province’s steering board for implementing the plan on preserving and promoting the values of the Muong ethnic culture and the Hoa Binh Civilisation during 2023 - 2030 held a meeting on November 6 to review the plan implementation. The event was chaired by Nguyen Phi Long, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, and head of the steering board.

The Great National Solidarity Festival in residential group No.3, Ky Son ward

On November 2nd, the Residential Group No.3, Ky Son Ward (Hoa Binh City) organized the Great National Solidarity and the Culture Festival between the local people and the armed forces in 2024. Preparing thoughtfully and thoroughly for Culture - Tourism Week of Hoa Binh province

On November the first, the Provincial People's Committee held a meeting for the reports on the progress of preparations to hold the Ceremony to receive the Certificate of the special national relic ranking for Trai Cave, the Stone Roof of Vanh village (Lac Son district) and the Opening Ceremony of the Culture - Tourism Week of Hoa Binh province in 2024. Mr. Nguyen Van Toan, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, the Head of the Organizing Committee of Culture - Tourism Week chaired the meeting.
