(HBO) – This year, Hoa Binh has seen considerable progress in quality management of agricultural production inputs and food safety. The province has also promoted more flexible agricultural production, distribution of farm produce and capacity building for local farmers and agribusinesses.
Thanh An organic agricultural cooperative, located in Nhon Trach Commune, Hoa Binh’s Luong Son District, now cultivates more than 10 hectares of VietGAP-standard and organic vegetables.
To date, Hoa Binh’s authorities have granted food safety, Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) and organic certificates for a total of 3,525 hectares of fruits and 561 hectares of vegetables of different kinds.
Food safety and GAP certificates have also been granted to 1,945 fish cages and 22 livestock farms. Three agribusinesses have cooperated with pig farming households, supplying to the market about 19,500 tonnes of pork a year./.
In Hoa Binh province, 11 traditional craft villages with more than 400 small-scaled production households have put in place a clean and green production model, establishing new standards for sustainable development. Waste collection sites and wastewater treatment facilities have been meticulously managed by local residents.
